Vintage Mixed Metals + Faux Pearls
I thought it was odd when I looked down at the dirt while walking the Camino Santiago across Spain and found what looked to me like a large bead. I picked it up and put it in my pocket and kept going. About 20 yards later there was another and then another. That day I found fifteen metal beads in various conditions. When I arrived at my destination for the day I cleaned them up and stored them in the bottom of my backpack for safe keeping.
Years later they resurfaced in my studio and I knew what I needed to do. You see, the experience of walking 600 miles across Spain was one of those pearls in my life and together with the beads that I found along the way, this necklace represents one of the milestones in my life…that pearl…that adventure!
